“As the chief oncologist of the region and the head of the Regional Cancer Center, I want to thank the organizers and participants of the “International Baikal Nippon Medical Skills” for choosing Irkutsk as the base for such a representative event”, said the main non-staff oncologist of the Irkutsk region, head physician of the “Regional Cancer Center”, MD, professor Victoria Dvornichenko. “The knowledge gained over the past three days is very important for our doctors, and they simply would not have been able to obtain it in any other way. After all, it would be impossible to take them all away from everyday work and send them to study in those clinics and centers whose representatives have gathered here today - I'm not talking about the financial component of such a massive field study.”

However, not only Irkutsk doctors, but also their colleagues from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Petrovavlovsk-Kamchatsky and other cities that have partaken in this forum have benefited greatly. The reports and practical master classes that took place during these days were highly appreciated by the most competent doctors of the country.

“It was a great honor for me to take part in this forum, which pleasantly surprised me with its scale and the highest level of organization. It is very important that the organizers of the “International Baikal Nippon Medical Skills” managed to gather in Irkutsk a whole pleiad of unique, brilliant professors from various fields of medicine: oncology, surgery, endoscopy, and ultrasound diagnostics. Indeed, with the current development of medicine, doctors of various specialties sometimes have to treat a single patient as it’s the only way to achieve the best result. So, we will continue to support this forum and take an active part in its work”, said the deputy chief non-staff surgeon and endoscopist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, head of the surgical endoscopic department of A.V. Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery of Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, MD, professor Yuri Starkov.

Japanese doctors and scientists were also pleased with the work of the forum, as many of them have spoken during the closing ceremony of the “International Baikal Nippon Medical Skills”:

“Thank you very much - both from me personally and from all my colleagues who arrived in Irkutsk for such a warm and cordial welcome. And in the future, it is also necessary to conduct joint seminars and conferences, as well as share clinical trial data with each other. So, I’m sure that my first trip to Irkutsk will not be the last, and I hope for further fruitful cooperation”, summed up the director and chief doctor of the National Cancer Center Hospital (Tokyo), MD, professor Toshirou Nishida..
