XXII International Endoscopic Symposium was held in Dusseldorf

Four Irkutsk doctors took part in it. One of the doctors, Sergey Zhuravlev is a head of the endoscopy department of the Regional Cancer Center. As the doctors who returned from the symposium have reported, there were no Russian presentations, but a lot of useful and interesting material could be gleaned from the talks given by foreign colleagues. In this regard, Sergey Zhuravlev notes the further development of endoscopic techniques for the biliary tract operations, as well as the mucosectomy technique on the mucosa of the colon and duodenum.

“Reports on the latest developments in the field of so-called “smart endoscopy” in the diagnosis of polypoid formations were very interesting. With this, the picture obtained during the endoscopic examination is analyzed by artificial intelligence, which highlights places on the screen where, in its opinion, the foci of the pathologically altered mucosa should be located. With the help of this technology, the influence of human factor on the diagnostic results is negated”, says Sergey Zhuravlev.

Note that the doctors of the Irkutsk Regional Cancer Center regularly take part in various scientific and practical conferences, symposia and master classes, quickly introducing the knowledge gained there into everyday work practice.
