Bacteriological laboratory

Activities:

As of now the laboratory performs a whole range of tests: aerobic, facultative anaerobic microorganisms, fungi of the genus Candida:

• Blood sterility testing;
• Contents from the nose, pharynx, sputum, punctures of body cavities, wounds, abscesses, urine, bile;
• The study of the microorganism sensitivity to antibacterial drugs by the disk diffusion method, the method of serial dilutions using analyzers, VO2max testing with the identification of the mechanisms of bacterial resistance: beta-lactamase, extended-spectrum beta-lactamase in enterobacterales, determination of carbapenemase, detection of oxacillin-resistant staphylococci, detection of vancomycin-resistant enterococci, including PCR;
• Stool test for pathogenic flora (Shigella, Salmonella, E.coli);
• Immunochromatographic rapid test for C.difficile toxins A and B;
• Dysbacteriosis, opportunistic microorganisms;
• Carriage of Staphylococcus aureus;
• Control over compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological regime, including swabs from environmental objects, sterility of surgical material, hands, surgical field, indoor air control, determination of the microorganism sensitivity isolated from the external environment to disinfectants.
