International master-class in Irkutsk
On 29-30 of November, the International transfer center of innovative medical technologies, based on the Irkutsk Regional Cancer Center, will host a second International master-class “Treatment of Hepatobiliary malignancies”.
Such malignancies include cholangiocellular and hepatocellular liver cancer, biliary ducts cancer, pancreatic cancer. All of those are severe conditions, that have very high oncological lethality. Moreover, for a long time the course of disease can progress without noticeable symptoms – respectively, they are mostly diagnosed in late stages. Alike, this issue is relevant not just in Russia, but all over the world; therefore, leading oncological centers and clinics are working on its solution. Their representors will come to Irkutsk for the purpose of exchanging new treatment techniques and experience.
Oncologists from Russia, Germany, Holland, China, Korea, Mongolia and Japan will be a part of the master-class. Beate Rau, Hauke Lang, Bernhard Gebauer, Fritz Klein, Mariane Sinn, Robert Öllinger, Ignace de Hingh, Moritz Schmelzle and others are some of the participants. In addition, top doctors of Russian medical organizations who specialize in cancer management are invited: FSBI “NMRRC of radiology”, MNIOI of Gertsen, FSBI “Academician V.I. Shumakov Federal Research Center of Transplantology and Artificial Organs”, SRC Burnasyan FMBC FMBA and 1st Moscow medical university.
Participants of the master-class will be introducing not only their theoretical materials, but practices as well. For example, Moritz Schmelzle will perform laparoscopical hemihepatectomy at one of the operating rooms of the Cancer Center. This type surgeries, done by the best medics of the world – is a distinctive feature of the International Center events. Alike, during the last year’s conference, dedicated to issues of peritoneal carcinomatosis, demonstrative surgery was carried out by Beate Rau, who was assisted by Deputy Head Physician for Medical Affairs of Irkutsk Regional Cancer Center, MD, Professor Aleksej Shelekhov, while doctors and scientists from USA, Russia, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Ukraine, Israel, Japan, China, Australia and Brazil – they all took part in work of International transfer center of innovative medical technologies.
Organizers of the current International master-class are inviting all interested parties to take part. Given master-class is accredited by European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), therefore, everyone who took part in it will receive an international certificate.
