The Cancer Center hosted a seminar on ovarian cancer treatment
Regional Cancer Center held a seminar “Modern trends of personalized approach in the diagnostics and treatment of ovarian cancer”. It was attended by oncologists from Irkutsk Region, Primorsky Krai, Republic of Buryatia and Vera Gorbunova, MD, professor of the N.N. Blokhin’s Russian Cancer Research Center became its moderator.
- Today we discuss a rather important question - new possibilities of personalized approach to the ovarian cancer treatment. The topicality of this problem is conditioned by the fact that the disease is one of the most complicated areas of oncology. So, the introduction of new drugs always opens new prospects for our patients - that is what we are discussing today - said Vera Gorbunova.
She also gave two program reports devoted to modern standards of treatment of patients with ovarian cancer and the BRCA-associated ovarian cancer and peculiarities of its diagnostics. In addition, the audience showed great interest in the reports of the experts from Buryatian Republican Cancer Dispensary - Larisa Ilyina, Irkutsk Regional Oncology Center - the head of gynecology department Roman Demonov and Varvara Zhurman, representative of Primorsky Regional Cancer Center.
