    19.07.2019 09:29:09

Regional Cancer Center has gathered more than a hundred oncohematologists, oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, laboratory technicians, resuscitators, efferentologists and therapists from all over the Irkutsk region and from neighboring regions. All of them came here to participate in the 3rd Siberian Oncohematological Forum, which takes place from 27 to 29 June. During these three days the most topical issues of lymphoproliferative diseases diagnosis and treatment, methods of stem cell transplantation, issues of the local registry work organization of bone marrow donors were discussed.

The current forum is attended by leading experts of the Hematological Research Center (SSC) of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, First St. Petersburg State Medical University. of academician I.P. Pavlov, “Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology of R.M. Gorbacheva", hematology center FGKU "GVKG of N.N. Burdenko" of the Defense Ministry of Russia, FSBI "NMIC of V.A. Almazov” Ministry of Health of Russia. The audience was presented with a number of reports containing the latest information concerning the diagnosis and treatment of lymphoproliferative diseases. In addition, three master classes took place during those days: “A FISH-research master class on histological biopsy specimens, surgical material for chronic lymphoproliferative diseases, non-small cell lung cancer genes”, “Flow cytometry in the differential diagnosis of lymphoproliferative diseases” and “Problematic issues in the diagnosis of lymphoproliferative diseases. Differential diagnosis of myeloproliferative diseases".

    - We are glad that in recent years the distance between Irkutsk and the federal centers has been reduced. So, we work closely with many institutions of St. Petersburg and are very grateful for the help they provide us. And we are very happy with their visits to the Irkutsk land and the professional communication - this allows us to introduce completely new technologies into our work and help patients on a completely different level, - stressed Elena Golenetskaya, Deputy Minister of Health of the Irkutsk Region.

During the forum, Marina Demchenkova, head of the chemotherapy for lymphoproliferative diseases department of the State Budgetary Health Institution “Regional Cancer Center”, has told the audience about the Irkutsk regional experience in stem cell transplantation in the lymphoma treatment. However, Irkutsk specialists have something to share with their colleagues: back in April 2016, a chemotherapy department for lymphoproliferative diseases with a bone marrow transplant unit was opened in the Regional Cancer Center. It was the first case in Russian medical practice, when oncologists began treating diseases, which in many respects required a hematological approach. Since then, 47 autologous bone marrow transplants have been performed here, and in January 2019, the first allogeneic transplantation was performed. Thus, the Regional Cancer Center became the thirteenth center in Russia and the only one from Novosibirsk to Vladivostok that performs allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.

    - The successes achieved by Irkutsk colleagues over the past few years, causes great respect. There are no other such “stars” on the map of Russia who have mastered autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation technologies from scratch, so, the other medical institutions should follow your example, - noted the Deputy Director for Research of the Scientific and Research Institute for Children's Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology of R.S. Gorbacheva, Ivan Moiseev.
