Congratulations on the 75th anniversary of Victoria Dvornichenko!
On November 4, one of the most honored and respected medical specialists of the Angara region, Viktoria Vladimirovna Dvornichenko, president of the Regional Cancer Center, celebrates her birthday. Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Honorary Citizen of the Irkutsk Region, MD, professor Victoria Dvornichenko received many accolades and honorary titles, which she earned through her great merits. For her invaluable contribution to the development of Russian healthcare, she was awarded the Order of Friendship - it was personally presented by Vladimir Putin the president of Russian Federation. Presenting the award, he noted that modern medicine is becoming an increasingly science-intensive industry. “Today, it is extremely important to widely introduce advanced methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment. This is one of the key direction in the work of Victoria Dvornichenko,” the president emphasized then.
Victoria Vladimirovna is one of those people for whom work is a matter of life. She inherited her predisposition to medicine from her grandmother, Maria Protopopova, who became the founder of a whole dynasty of wonderful doctors. Maria Fedorovna was born in 1901 in Penza and in 1927 she graduated from the Penza Pharmaceutical School. And when the peaceful years ended, she went through the entire Great Patriotic War, having met end of the war in the rank of major of the medical service, later for many years she worked as a pharmacist in pharmacies in Odessa and Angarsk. The future doctor and scientist grew up listening to her grandmother’s stories. Therefore, after finishing school, Victoria entered the Irkutsk State Medical Institute. In 1972, she graduated with honors, choosing oncology as a medical specialty, and the Irkutsk Regional Cancer Center as her place of work, where she works to this day. On September 22, 1995, Viktoria Vladimirovna became the head physician of the hospital and worked in this position for a quarter of a century. Over the past time, she has managed to turn it into one of the world's leading centers for the treatment of oncological diseases.
“My sister (the chief non-staff obstetrician-gynecologist of the Ministry of Health of the Irkutsk Region Natalya Protopopova) and I, our father, who worked for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, brought up to be tough and never quit - even if someone hurts you or if you have to wait a long time,” says Victoria Dvornichenko.
Victoria Dvornichenko gathered a strong team of like-minded people around her, many of whom are her students. After all, Victoria Dvornichenko is not only a brilliant practitioner and a great scientist who has performed more than 6,000 operations, published more than a hundred scientific papers and monographs, and introduced 11 rationalization proposals and 10 inventions for the treatment of cancer into practice. She is also a wonderful teacher who has been combining her main work with teaching for more than thirty years. Today, Victoria Dvornichenko heads the Department of Oncology and Radiation Therapy of the Irkutsk State Medical University and the Department of Oncology of the State Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, which train highly professional personnel for the oncological service of the region.
For all this we feel deep gratitude and great respect for Victoria Vladimirovna. On the day of her anniversary, we sincerely congratulate our honored colleague and wish her happiness, health and further success!
