Surgical department (coloproctology) - 40 beds
The department has 6 doctors, 12 nurses.
Activities:
• diagnostics of benign and malignant tumors of the colon and rectum;
• providing specialized and high-tech medical care to patients with benign and malignant neoplasms of the colon and rectum;
• participation in organizational methodological work among medical institutions of the Irkutsk region on this pathology;
• participation in educational work on the training of medical specialists working on this pathology.
Achievement:
• Implementation of technology for detecting K-RAS, N-RAS, BRAF mutations for targeted therapy.
• Performing sphincter-preserving surgeries with the formation of a colonic reservoir (transverse coloplasty, end-to-side anastomosis, J-pouch anastomosis) in surgical treatment of middle and lower ampullar rectal cancer.
• Performing reconstructive surgeries after obstructive resections of the colon and rectum.
• Diagnostics and treatment of early stages of colon and rectal cancer using endoscopic technologies (polypectomy, mucosectomy).
• Carrying out preoperative chemoradiotherapy in complex therapy of middle and lower ampullar rectal cancer.
• Implementation of angiographic selective embolization of rectal vessels in case of bleeding from a rectal tumor.
• The use of cytoreductive surgical interventions with the use of physical factors in colon tumors with distant metastases: peritoneumectomy, intra-abdominal chemohyperthermia.
